Drugovich wins at Red Bull Ring

Felipe Drugovich (MP Motorsport) scored his first victory in F2 from its first meeting at Red Bull Ring (Austria). The Brazilian took advantage of the reverse grid to benefit from pole. Despite several interruptions in the race, the 2018 Euroformula Open champion retained the advantage against Louis Delétraz (Charouz Racing System).

It was Dan Ticktum (Dams) who completed the podium, taking advantage of the retirement of Giuliano Alesi (BWT HWA Racelab) with an engine problem at the end of the first lap.

Robert Shwartzman (Prema Racing) and Christian Lundgaard (ART GP) completed the Top 5 ahead of Nobuharu Matsushita (MP Motorsport). The Japanese had to fight throughout the second part of the race to resist the assaults of Mick Schumacher (Prema Racing).

Marcus Armstrong (ART GP) was on course to take second place, but the New Zealander also had to dismount following a mechanical problem. Luca Ghiotto (Hitech GP) retired after being sent into a spin by Jehan Daruvala (Carlin) who finished in 16th place. The incident forced Guanyu-Zhou (Uni-Virtuosi Racing) to pass through the gravel trap to avoid contact. The Chinese, who was already unlucky the day before, could only take 14th position.
