Drugovich takes surprise pole

Philip Drugovich (MP Motorsport) took pole position to everyone's surprise during qualifying for the British Grand Prix in Formula 2. Thanks to a second stratospheric sector, the Brazilian will set off in front Callum ilott (UNI-Virtuosi / +0 »139) and Mick Schumacher (Prema Racing / +0 »234), Saturday, during the main race. Author of a complicated season in FIA F3 Last season, Felipe Drugovich had already surprised everyone in Austria by winning the sprint race on the first weekend of the season.

The bad operation of the day is, however, to be attributed to Robert Schwartzman (Prema Racing). Leader of the championship, the Russian will start from 18th place on Saturday, after a failed qualification (+1”5). Two weeks ago in Hungary, he had already only finished 11th in qualifying, which did not prevent him from winning thanks to an offbeat strategy. His three main opponents, all on the first two lines, can rub their hands.

Also note the beautiful 6th place of Jack aitken (Campos Racing / +0 »555) at home. The Briton won here last season and achieved a good qualification after a very sluggish start to the season for him and his Spanish team. French Giuliano Alesi (HWA Racelab) finished 20th.
