F2 – Carlin, Charouz and Fortec will join the 2018 peloton

Alongside regulars ART Grand Prix, DAMS, Prema Racing, and Arden International, the 2018 championship peloton FIA F2 will be able to count on the arrival of three new structures, but far from being complete unknowns.

Still under the leadership of Trevor Carlin, the British team Carlin, with its many successes in car, as in F3 this year with Lando Norris, will make its return to a level that it had known under the name GP2 between 2011 and 2016. The team then won the title of Teams vice-champion twice in 2013 and 2014.

To Charouz Racing System, accustomed to the Formula Renault 3.5 / World Series Formula V8 3.5 in recent years, and Fortec Motorsports, present in F3 as well as in Formula Renault 2.0 or even in FR 3.5 / WS Formula V8 3.5, 2018 will mark the debut in F2.

Eleven teams have already been confirmed, but a twelfth could be confirmed in the coming days. Note the absence of Russian Time and Rapax, present in 2017. « We are happy to welcome Carlin, Fortec and Charouz on the grid, comments Bruno Michel, boss of the championship.

They will get their first taste of F2 in early 2018 at the car shakedown, the date of which will be announced in the coming weeks.

We have received high quality requests from many teams who want to join our championship. Therefore, we retain the possibility of adding a twelfth team to the grid before the end of this year. »
