F2 – Charouz Racing System confirms Delétraz and Fuoco for 2018

The 2018 season will see the debut of Charouz Racing System in FIA F2. The Czech structure, accustomed in recent years to Formula Renault 3.5 then Formula V8 3.5 under the Lotus banner, changed its program for the coming year after the end of the V8 3.5 championship to turn to the FIA pyramid.

For this year of discovery, Charouz will be able to count on two drivers who already have experience in the category. The Swiss Louis Delétraz and the Italian Antonio Fuoco were thus confirmed this Thursday to compete in the two single-seaters lined up by Antonin Charouz's men.

If Delétraz competed in the 2017 season under the colors of Racing Engineering then Rapax, Fuoco, a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, was the champion's teammate Charles Leclerc at Prema Racing. The Transalpin, not renewed by René Rosin's team, will allow the Charouz single-seaters to display the logo of the young drivers program of the Team.

« I'm really happy to join Charouz because in every championship they've competed in in the past, they've been fast and won races, mentions Delétraz, son of Jean-Denis Delétraz, former pilot F1.

It's a very exciting project and I think we can do great things next year. It’s definitely my goal to have a very good season. I have known Antonio for a few years and look forward to working with him.

It's important to have a strong teammate to help the team move forward and I think our duo is very good. I can't wait to be a part of it. »

« The team has a great history after winning the FV8 3.5 World Series this year and everyone is doing their best to achieve everything perfectly, indicates Fuoco. If that happens, I know we can all have a good season together. »

The Charouz stable must receive its first car Dallara mid-January, the second arriving mid-February. The 2 F2018s will feature the famous Halo, as well as a new 6-liter turbo V3,4 unit.
