A few days after announcing the different calendars for two competitions and decided to change the format of the weekends with the holding of two races instead of three, the FIA as well as the promoters of the Formula 2 and Formula 3 have made some changes to the distribution of points. From 2022, the pole sitter will be awarded 2 points, compared to 4 points this season in both F2 and F3. The scale for the best lap in a race has also been inspected and will only give one unit, whereas it offered its author two this campaign.

In Formula 3, the winner of the sprint race will get 10 points, the second will have 9 points, and so on until the tenth who will pocket 1 point. In Formula 2, it is not the 10 but the first 8 who will be rewarded with 10 units for the winner, 8 for the 2nd, 6 for the 3rd, 5 for the 4th, 4 for the 5th, 3 for the 6th, 2 for the 7th and 1 for the 8th. Over a full round, a driver can score a maximum of 39 points. The reverse grid system remains in effect and will be applied to the Top 10 in F2 and the Top 12 for F3 during sprint races. On the other hand, the scale of the main event on Sunday remains identical to that of the Formula 1.

In Formula 3, the season concluded in Russia with the coronation of Dennis Hauger last September. In Formula 2, there are only two weekends left (Saudi Arabia from December 3 to 5 and Abu Dhabi from the 10 to 12 of the same month). Oscar piastri currently dominates the debates (178 points) ahead of Guanyu-Zhou (142 points) and Robert Shwartzman (135 points).
