The face of the ART Grand Prix team in FIA F2 is starting to take shape for 2018. The French team will place its trust this season in one of its residents lined up in the GP3 Series in 2017, the Briton Jack Aitken, crowned vice-champion behind his compatriot and teammate George Russell.
Aitken, 22, distinguished himself in 2015 by winning the Eurocup Formula titles Renault 2.0 and FR 2.0 ALPS. The Londoner will also continue his career as a resident of the Renault Sport Academy for the third consecutive year, as confirmed by the French structure this Monday.
« Of course, I am delighted to sign with ART GP for another year, and take on the F2 challenge, Aitken says. I've made a lot of friends here, and I have confidence in them and myself that we will have a good season together this year. We will aim for the best possible result and attack hard. Rookie or not, I want to fight at the front as always. »
