F2 – Charles Leclerc’s good bet

Charles Leclerc (Prema Racing) took its first victory in F2 by winning the Sprint Race in Bahrain. While he took control of the event, the junior driver of the Team Ferrari opted to change his tires, condemning him to a comeback race. The Monegasque took the advantage over Luca Ghiotto (Russian Time) and Oliver Rowland (Dams) at the very end of the race.

The Italian started from pole after Nobuharu Matsushita (ART Grand Prix) started from the pits following a mechanical problem. The Japanese could only take 14th place.

Nicholas latifi (Dams) and Jordan King (MP Motorsport) completed the top five ahead Nyck de Vries (Rapax) and Alexander albon (ART Grand Prix) who nevertheless moved in the lead at the start of the race. Artem Markelov (Russian Time) took 8th place ahead of Johnny Cecotto Jr (Rapax) and Antonio Fuoco (Prema Racing).

Norma Nato (Pertamina Arden) retired following contact with Oliver Rowland which caused a puncture.

Charles Leclerc leaves Sakhir at the head of the Championship after his podium in the main race the day before. The Prema Racing driver is 8 points ahead of Artem Markelov and 16 points ahead of Oliver Rowland.
