F2 – Leclerc: “It’s such a shame”

Despite starting from pole in Monaco and starting the race F2 masterfully managed, Charles Leclerc was trapped at home by a too-early stop given the safety car, seeing him emerge in fourth place. It was ultimately a suspension problem at the left front which put an end to the Monegasque's hopes of a coronation on his home soil.

" It is such a shame, comments the Prema pilot. We started very well and we were very fast, even after the first safety car. During the second caution, we were unlucky by stopping straight away and coming out behind the other competitors who had stopped a lap later. And then we suffered a technical problem which prevented us from continuing. »

In addition to his retirement, Charles Leclerc saw his main opponent in the championship, Oliver Rowland (Dams) rise to just three points. The development pilot Ferrari will start from 17th place tomorrow for the sprint race contested tomorrow from 11:20 a.m. and broadcast on Canal+.
