F2 – Leclerc disqualified in qualifying in Hungary

Charles Leclerc was disqualified from the qualifications of the F2 on the Hungaroring (Hungary). The Prema Racing driver, who had dominated the session by beating his closest rivals by more than 4 tenths, saw his car not pass the control of the commissioners due to an element at the level of the differential not respecting the technical regulations.

The stewards invoked Article 9.2 of the F2 technical regulations and had to disqualify Charles Leclerc who will start from the back of the grid.

Charles Leclerc remains optimistic for the race despite this disappointment.

“The pole will only have been had on the circuit. I was disqualified due to a slight error that did not provide any performance gain. So it doesn't disappoint me. I always liked starting last and moving up the positions even if it’s not the easiest circuit to do it”, commented Charles Leclerc on Twitter.

Oliver Rowland (Dams) regains pole ahead of Artem Markelov (Russian Time).

Sergio Sette Camara (MP Motorsport) will also have to move back 3 places on the grid for having hindered Nicholas latifi (Dams) during qualifying. The Brazilian will start at the back of the row.
