F2 – Leclerc equals Vandoorne with a sixth consecutive pole

Charles Leclerc signed his sixth consecutive pole position in Formula 2 at Silverstone (Great Britain) with a best time of 1’38”427. He equals the record of Stoffel Vandoorne who completed the same series in 2014 and 2015 with the same car.

The Monegasque is ahead of the resident of the fold Renault F1 Oliver Rowland (DAMS) by more than four tenths. Frenchman Norman Nato (Arden) climbs into second in 3e position ahead of his former teammate Jordan King (MP Motorsport). Artem Markelov (Russian Time) qualified in 5e position six tenths behind Leclerc. Nicholas latifi (DAMS) takes 6e place ahead of Sergio Canamasas (Rapax).

Sergio Sette Câmara (MP Motorsport) was inserted between the two ART GPs of Nobuharu Matsushita and Alex Albon who complete the top 10. The session was disrupted by Sean Gelael (Arden) whose smoking car leaked oil onto the track and who also remains under investigation by the stewards for having blocked Antonio Fuoco (Prema Racing ) in its rapid turn.
