F2 – Leclerc provisionally on pole in Monaco

Despite his inexperience at the Monaco circuit, Charles Leclerc (Prema Racing) took pole in F2 by being the fastest in the two qualifying groups, the format having been modified to adapt to the urban layout of the Principality.

Charles Leclerc set a time of 1'19''309 while brushing against the rail in the Tunnel, but the local driver could be penalized for not waiting long enough in the pit lane after stalling.

In the event of a penalty, it is Alexander albon (ART Grand Prix) who could start in first position after failing just 12 thousandths from pole by being the fastest in his group. Oliver Rowland (Dams) is in 3rd place ahead of Artem Markelov (Russian Time) and Nobuharu Matsushita (ART Grand Prix). Norman Nato (Pertamina Arden) completes the 3rd row of the grid.

Race 1 of F2 in Monaco will be contested this Friday, May 26 at 11:30 a.m. and will be followed live on Canal+ channels.
