F2 – Leclerc takes the C1 to Barcelona

Charles Leclerc (Prema Racing) won the main race of the F2 in Barcelona (Spain) on the Catalunya circuit. The Monegasque, who started from pole, retained his position at the start but had to make a comeback race after stopping on the 7th lap to put on hard tires.

The GP3 Series champion finally won ahead of Luca Ghiotto (Russian Time) and Oliver Rowland (Dams) who preferred to extend his first stint despite the intervention of the safety car in the first part of the race following the stop on track by Sergio Canamasas (Trident).

Nobuharu Matsushita and Alexander albon, the two ART Grand Prix drivers, completed the top five ahead of the Canadian Nicholas latifi (Dams). Gustav Malja (Racing Engineering) took 7th place ahead of Artem Markelov (Russian Time), Jordan King (MP Motorsport) and Ralph Boschung (Campos Racing). Norman Nato (Pertamina Arden) only took 17th place after starting 7th.

Charles Leclerc now has a 29-point lead over Luca Ghiotto and 30 points over Oliver Rowland.
