For once, it was the morning session which was the fastest, the entire grid having improved their marks compared to the day before. During this session, it is Arjun maini (Trident) which dominated the debates with a time established in 1'42''779 which becomes the new reference for these tests.
The rookie is also the only one to have gone below the 1’43 mark. He is two tenths ahead of Jack Aitken (ART GP) and Nyck de Vries (Prema Racing), the Dutchman having covered the most laps in the morning. The Italian Luca Ghiotto (Campos Racing) achieved the 4the time of the morning ahead of Louis Delétraz (Charouz Racing System).
The afternoon was dedicated to race simulations, which explains a drop in times. Nevertheless, Santino Ferrucci kept Trident at the forefront with a best time of 1’45”522. He is ahead of the Swiss Ralph Boschung (MP Motorsport) and Maini in a session where the absolute time is not very representative.
In terms of mileage, Jack Aitken was the only one to pass the 50 lap mark covered this afternoon and, with 52 laps, is ahead of his teammate George Russell, the ART GP being the two most productive cars in Sakhir.
