F2 – Rowland and Fuoco disqualified, Markelov declared winner

Oliver Rowland (DAMS) will not have savored his victory this Saturday in Abu Dhabi only for a few hours. The Briton, resident of the fold Renault, was disqualified after post-race technical checks.

La car of the French team presented a flat bottom board that was too thin compared to the directives of the technical regulations.

As for Antonio Fuoco (Prema Racing), front tire pressure below the minimum required pressure is the cause, causing the young Italian to lose his third place. Both drivers will be able to compete in the sprint race tomorrow, starting from the back of the grid.

These disqualifications allow Artem Markelov (Russian Time) to inherit the victory before Charles Leclerc (Prema Racing) and Luca Ghiotto (Russian Time). The Russian also won the honorary title of 2017 vice-champion.

Nyck de Vries (Racing Engineering), Nicholas latifi (DAMS), Nobuharu Matsushita (ART Grand Prix), Alexander albon (ART Grand Prix), Jordan King (MP Motorsport), Sergio Sette Camara (MP Motorsport) and Louis Delétraz (Rapax) complete the top 10.

With his eighth place, Jordan King will start in pole position tomorrow.
