FE – Andre Lotterer joins Vergne at Techeetah

For the second season of existence of the Chinese team in Formula E, Techeetah has chosen a brand duo with the renewal of Jean-Eric Vergne who ended season 3 with a victory in Montreal. We note the presence of a newcomer from WEC after Neel Jani, Andre Lotterer joins the FE.

« I am honored and proud to join Techeetah to make my debut in Formula E, comments the German pilot. FE has become the most exciting series in recent years. Techeetah made a good impression last year by beating several manufacturer teams, and I look forward to working with Jean-Eric Vergne and everyone at Techeetah to begin this new chapter in my career.."

This announcement is in line with the departure of Porsche of the LMP1 program in WEC at the end of this season. Andre Lotterer counts among his feats of arms 3 victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a WEC championship title with Audi in 2012, a Formula Nippon (now SuperFormula) championship title in 2011, two Super GT titles and a start in Formula 1 at the 2014 Belgian Grand Prix with Caterham.

« Jean-Eric Vergne and Andre Lotterer will form one of the best duo in FE, adds Ivan Yim, managing director of Techeetah. I am sure that our two drivers will push each other to reach high levels of performance. »

The first Formula E tests for season 4 will take place next week in Valencia, Spain.
