This decision could well have significant consequences on the outcome of the season. Lucas di Grassi (Abt Audi Sport) was excluded from the Mexico ePrix after being declared winner ahead of Jérôme d'Ambrosio (Dragon Racing) and Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.Dams).
The Brazilian, who had taken the lead in the Championship with six points ahead of the Swiss, saw his car controlled with 1,8 kg less than the regulatory 888 kg. He now finds himself 22 units behind the Swiss pilot who inherits second place behind the Belgian who inherits success on green carpets, while Nicolas Cheers (Renault e.Dams) completes the new podium in front Loïc duval (Dragon Racing) and Robin Frijns (Andretti FE).
