FE – Change in the regulations

With a view to the radical changes to the discipline in 2018, the FIA wanted to move towards its developments by introducing some from next season. First of all, the non-qualifying sessions on Sunday will be removed for weekends with two races, leaving the number of free practice sessions at two for the Hong Kong, New York and Montreal weekends. .

A day of mid-season testing will be added to the inter-season testing traditionally held at Donington Park. A private session will be granted to rookies in the discipline.

From a technological point of view, the cars will be able to use 180 kW of maximum power in the race compared to 170 kW at present and 200 kW in qualifying.
