Formula E – Montagny tested positive in a drug test

Franck Montagny recognized in The Team have been tested positive for a cocaine derivative at the end of the Putrajaya ePrix in Malaysia held on November 22 where he took 15th position. As the Andretti driver did not contest the result, he was suspended from sports competition pending final sanction.

The consultant F1 of Canal+ expressed his fears about his sporting future while he had found an interesting place in Formula E where he occupies 7th place in the Championship. The Frenchman has a great career behind him since he notably participated in seven Grands Prix within Super Aguri and fought for victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. “At the end of the test, I see the control guy waving at me. There, in my head, I understood immediately. I knew it was dead. I took the plane again. I went shopping for two days, so as not to go out, to be alone, at home, within my four walls. Then I called my parents to explain it to them. I was ashamed ", explained Montagny to our colleagues.

This admission thus explains the curious absence of the French driver at the Punta del Este ePrix in Uruguay where he was replaced by Jean-Éric Vergne. Franck Montagny then cited medical reasons.
