Formula E – Vergne remains persuasive in testing with Andretti

If Jean-Éric Vergne (Andretti) experienced cruel disillusionment at the Punta del Este ePrix by retiring two laps from the finish, the Frenchman remained competitive at the wheel of the Spark STR_01E by signing the best time of the morning practice session achieved on the Uruguayan track with a time of 1'14"975.

JEV completed a lap in 1'14"975 to beat Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport Abt), the Championship leader, by more than two tenths. Jaime Alguersuari (Virgin Racing) follows seven tenths ahead of Mahindra drivers Bruno Senna and Karun Chandhok, the first driver more than a second behind the benchmark. Stéphane Sarrazin (Venturi) took seventh place between Jarno Trulli (Trulli) and Sébastien Buemi (edams), the winner of the third round of Formula E, but the Frenchman is more than two seconds behind his compatriot. Nicholas Cheers (edams) was more anonymous by only finishing in 16th position behind Jérôme d'Ambrosio (Dragon Racing).
