This is what we call a walk in the park for Ralph Boschung. Starting in pole position due to the inverted grid, driver Campos showed no signs of stress in this Sprint Race, the first of the year.

Author of a good takeoff, the Swiss quickly opened up a gap on his pursuers. With a lead of more than 3 seconds, Ralph Boschung had a relatively quiet first outing to sign his first victory in F2, he who disputes his 6e season already.

Martins and Pourchaire lead the Sprint

If the winner was never jostled, his competitors animated this Sprint Race with in particular Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) in the lead. Party 8e, the Habs did not miss their debut in F2. After the 2e place in qualifying the day before, the Ile-de-France resident made a good comeback on the track.

With 4 places gained in the first round, the last champion of F3 successively got rid of DAMS drivers Arthur Leclerc and Ayumu Iwasa, proving that he will have to be taken seriously this year. Too short to get Ralph Boschung in front of him, Victor Martins had to battle in the final laps to resist Dennis Hauger (MP Motorsport). Despite a good defense, he finally lost two passes from the finish, still signing a good 3e place to launch his adventure in F2.

Long contender for the podium, Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix) suffered in the second part of the race. Dropped by the wagon in front of him, the Grassois had to use his 5e position against Jehan Daruvala (MP Motorsport).

For the other two French people, this Sprint Race was more complicated. Ambushing in the peloton, Isack Hadjar (Hitech GP) was stopped in his tracks due to a penalty for an infraction on the starting grid. Falling last, the protégé of Red Bull failed to bring up the container of the 20e place. Clément Novalak (Trident) who started last managed to grab a few positions but could not do better than 16e.

See you on Sunday at 11:20 a.m. for the start of the main Formula 2 race in Bahrain, with two French people on the front row, ART Grand Prix teammates Théo Pourchaire and Victor Martins.
