Jüri Vips finishes Barcelona test on top

For this last afternoon of testing, Jüri Vips (Hitech) set the best time in a session devoted mainly to long relays. Felipe Drugovich, however, remains the fastest driver of the day and of these three days of testing.

Jüri Vips finishes Barcelona test on top

In a final afternoon of testing in Barcelona dedicated to long relays, the Estonian Jüri Vips still set the best time of the session, more than a second ahead of Jack Hugues (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Enzo Fittipaldi (Charouz). The best time in these tests is still to the credit of the Brazilian Felipe Drugovich (MP Motorsport), in 1'27'529, a time achieved in the morning.

If the last session of the afternoon was cut by half an hour, the start having been delayed by 30 minutes due to track maintenance, the drivers mainly concentrated on the race relays. The afternoon, however, was marred by two long periods of red flags, each lasting around half an hour.

A fuel pump problem on the car of Frederik Vesti (ART Grand Prix) forced the driver to stop in the last sector, before the engine of Dennis Hauger (Prema) suddenly failed him, a few minutes from the start. END. The session was however able to resume after the marshals had cleaned up all the fluids left on the track by the Norwegian's car, but the session was once again interrupted when the fastest man of the afternoon was not was forced to stop in turn.

Author of 46 laps today – the highest total behind the 47 of Calan Wililans (Trident), Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix) settled for seventh place, in an afternoon where the positions had little impact. Just behind, we find Clément Novalak in eighth place, whose problems of the morning were quickly forgotten.

Over the next two days, it will be the turn of Formula 3 to take to the track on the Barcelona-Catalonia route, and in particular the leader of the championship, the French driver Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix).
