Race 2 for Daruvala, Pourchaire out of the points

This time, the race was not chaotic, as it had been earlier Saturday morning with the second victory of the season for Théo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix). Wiser, the pilots neutralized themselves more even if some did well. This is notably the case of the Indian Jehan Daruvala (Carlin). Having left on the front line, the pilot supported by Red Bull managed to overtake pole sitter David Beckmann (Campos) at the start. All he had to do was take off and win alone, the German having spent his entire race with his eyes in the mirrors. Beckmann also gave in on the 19th lap, in favor of Bent Viscaal (Trident) who took his first podium. Robert Shwartzman (Prema) completes the trio, ahead of Liam Lawson (Hitech), once again 4th.

No points for Pourchaire

Dominant in C1, Théo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix) finished in the place allocated to him before the race: 10th. Despite a superb start which allowed him to gain two positions, and a superb opportunistic dive on Oscar piastri (Prema) in the 3rd lap, the native of Grasse then experienced a more difficult second part of the race, with delicate tires. The Habs have lost their three places, and therefore score no points. As a reminder, he will start from 7th place on Sunday in the main race.

For his part, championship leader Oscar Piastri finished 7th and pocketed the two points for the best lap in addition. He therefore takes the opportunity to get a few crumbs ahead of Guanyu-Zhou (UNI-Virtuosi), his runner-up in the ranking and 8th in the race. We will also note the new setbacks of Christian Lundgaard (ART Grand Prix), caught in an incident at the start of the race, and who spent all his time trying to get back into the points. Trapped in C1, Daniel Ticktum (Carlin) managed a nice comeback from 22nd to 11th position, which on the other hand did not give him any points.
