Is the 2023 grid the toughest in the history of Formula 2?

The announcement of Jehan Daruvala's tenure at MP Motorsport for a fourth year of Formula 2 allowed the championship to finally have a complete grid just over a month before the start of the season. The opportunity to question the competitiveness of the championship.

It is already the seventh year of the Formula 2. The championship promoted by Formula Motorsport Limited took over from the GP2 Series, the last edition of which was won by Pierre Gasly in 2016. Since then, F2 has dedicated several extremely talented drivers, who are today - or who are about to be - the heyday of the F1. Charles Leclerc in 2017, George Russell in 2018, Nyck de Vries in 2019, or Oscar piastri in 2021. Mick Schumacher, crowned in 2020, is experiencing more difficult times after losing his seat this winter, while Felipe Drugovich (2022) is still biding his time.

That being said, not everyone faced the same adversity during their year in F2. If Charles Leclerc was impressive in 2017, we will remember this vintage more for the exploits and the domination of the Monegasque rookie than for the
