- First pole position of the season for Frederik Vesti (Prema), the second of his career after that in Austria last year.
- Positioned in Group B alongside Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix), Ayumu Iwasa (DAMS) and Zane Maloney (Carlin), the Dane distinguished himself as the fastest man on the princely track.
- After seeing Théo Pourchaire dominate a good part of the session, Frederik Vesti took the upper hand on the Habs in the last minutes with a lap in 1'21"053 ahead of him by 52 thousandths. Everyone left for a final attempt, which would perhaps have allowed the Habs to regain their possession, the drivers were forced to slow down after the appearance of a red flag due to the accident of Clément Novalak (Trident) at the Portier bend, just before the tunnel.
- Looking for a big result to get back into the championship, Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) may have chosen the right weekend. On a circuit that he appreciates and on which he has already won (Formula Renault 2019), the Frenchman stood out. He indeed dominated Group A with a time of 1'21"231. He once hoped to take pole position but Frderik Vesti stopped him. The Ile-de-France rider still signed a good front row which could give him his first points in the Main Race this year. Fingers crossed.
- For its first in F2 in front of his audience, Arthur Leclerc (DAMS) had a difficult Friday. On the attack in Group A, the Monegasque made a mistake at Noghès, considerably damaging his car while causing the first of three red flags in these qualifications.
- Fifth in Group A and therefore 10e on the grid for the Main Race (Sunday 9:40 a.m.), Frenchman Isack Hadjar (Hitech GP) inherits pole position for the Sprint Race (Saturday 14:15 p.m.).
