The champion of Formula 3 will have its place in Formula 2 next season. Gabriel Bortoleto will be present in the anteroom of the Formula 1, and it will be with Virtuosi Racing. The Brazilian – reserve driver at McLaren – will make his debut in the category with the British team after winning the F3 title with a 45-point lead over his closest pursuer, Zak O'Sullivan.

“[Virtuosi has] a victorious past (…) and together our goal will be to aim for the best positions for the team, said Gabriel Bortoleto. In 2023, they have achieved pole positions and victories, and I hope to build a strong and consistent story with them throughout the year. We will have a new car in the championship, and our first challenge will be to adapt quickly and efficiently to start the year on a good note. »

The Brazilian will be accompanied by a driver with a little more experience in F2, Kush Maini. The Indian, a Formula 2 rookie this season, finished 11th in the Drivers' Championship with Campos Racing. Recruited from the academy Alpine last October, the 23-year-old driver will be coached by Mika Häkkinen, 1-1998 F1999 world champion.

“I am super excited and grateful to join Invicta Virtuosi Racing for the Formula 2 championship, rejoiced Kush Maini. They have a great pedigree in Formula 2 and, before that, GP2, and I look forward to growing with the team. A big thank you to Invicta Virtuosi for trusting me, as well as theAlpine Academy and my management team for their support. I will do my best to hopefully bring many trophies back to the workshop. »
