He had left the Formula 2 on a final 10th place in 2020 with the Hitech Grand Prix team. The Italian Luca Ghiotto will be back at the Monza round (Italy, September 9-11) after almost two years of absence in the antechamber of the Formula 1.

The 27-year-old driver was chosen to replace Israeli Roy Nissany. He must observe a suspension race for having exceeded the quota of penalty points in competition in Zandvoort (Netherlands) the previous week.
Luca Ghiotto can boast of a third final place in Formula 2, acquired in 2019 behind the future world champion of Formula E 2021 Nyck de Vries and the current pilot Williams in Formula 1, Nicholas latifi. In 2022, he converted to GT World Challenge Europe with Audi and the Tresor by Car Collection team.
DAMS is in sixth place in the Manufacturers' ranking before the penultimate meeting of the year, just 10 lengths behind Prema.
