Théo, will you be Formula 1 next year with Alfa Romeo ?

Thank you for asking me the question (laughs). I can't answer at the moment. It’s my dream of course, as it is for all of us. You have to ask Fred Vasseur! For now, I'm fully focused on F2. My future will depend on my results. I can't say anything more.

Indeed, Fred Vasseur had very complimentary words about you. What does this do to you?

I am very happy to hear this type of comment. I've known Fred for years and he saw many pilots grow up with him, notably Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. Afterwards, I only have my results to prove if I am a good driver or not.

When will your situation for the year 2022 be determined?

Honestly, I prefer to concentrate on F2 because there is still half the season to go. The next two weekends will probably decide my future. I have to perform well in Monza and Sochi.

Do these rumors add pressure to you before heading into this weekend?

It's a Grand Prix like any other, I have to get a good result. I'm here to ride, I don't have to change because of some rumors. I'm going to do my best, as I do every time, that's my only goal right now.

How do you judge your first part of the season?

It's not bad in terms of pure performance. I'm still in the top 5 in qualifying so that's a good thing. I'm not going to go back to Monaco, because it was obviously excellent. I had a mechanical problem in Bahrain which unfortunately cost me big points. In Baku, the weekend was difficult with two races out of three without points. For this end of the season, I need to achieve better results and be more consistent. I know I can do it.

How do you work with the team?

ART Grand Prix is one of the best teams in F2 history. We have speed and Christian is very fast too. He had some problems at the start of the year but he will be there this weekend. We have one of the best duo on the grid and we will do everything to help the team win the championship.

What is your view on the Monza circuit?

It's a special place. The track is incredible, we can overtake so it will be fun with this format. The fans are there, the food is good, everything is positive. I love Monza!
