Formula e – Brussels leaves the calendar, Berlin sees double

A third “double header” will take place on the calendar for the third season of the Formula e. Alongside Montreal and New York, the Berlin ePrix, relocated to Tempelhof airport, will finally host two rounds on the weekend of June 11.

Formula e organizers and the FIA made this change after confirmation of the cancellation of the Belgian event in Brussels, as validated by the federation after the last World Motor Sport Council.

“Following the request of the Belgian ASN and the Promoter, the World Motor Sport Council has agreed that the 8th round of the Formula E Championship will take place in Berlin on June 11 and not in Brussels on July 1, making Berlin ePrix a double event and retaining all 12 rounds for the entire season. » states the press release.

The German meeting must also take place on a completely redesigned route, as indicated by Formula e. Spectators who have already purchased a ticket for the June 10 race, initially scheduled near Karl-MAX Allee, will have their reservation converted into a weekend pass and will be able to benefit from a special pit walk on June 10.
