Formula E – Buemi improves benchmark at Donington

Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.dams) remained the fastest in the tests of the Formula E in Donington (Great Britain). The Swiss completed a lap of the track in 1'31"050, thus beating the previous benchmark achieved on this circuit by 3 hundredths.

“It was a bit of a fragmented lap, but a perfect time is difficult to obtain on this track,” admitted the former pilot Toro Rosso. “I think I could have gained a second, maybe even I could have reached 1'29. I'm pretty happy but we're only in the early stages with the new package and now we need to focus on the details. There car has become easier to ride, stability and brakes have improved. »

Sam bird (DS Virgin) came closest in preceding Daniel Abbot (ABT Audi Sport), Nick Heidfeld (Mahindra Racing) and Nicolas Cheers (Renault e.dams), last driver less than half a second from the best lap.

Behind Bruno senna (Mahindra Racing), Loïc duval (Dragon Racing) precedes its compatriots Stephane Sarrazin (Venturi), Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Virgin Racing) and Tom dillmann (Team Aguri). Jérôme d'Ambrosio (Dragon Racing) ranked ahead Jacques Villeneuve (Venturi).

Si Simona de Silvestro (Andretti) was unable to set a time due to mechanical problems, those of Nextev TCR and Trulli prevented both teams from participating in practice.

Formula E testing will resume on Monday August 17 at Donington.
