Formula e – Buemi and Renault e.dams on pole in Beijing

The first qualifying session of the second season of Formula e favored the Swiss Sébastien Buemi who beat his teammate Nicolas Prost during the Super Pole.

Formula e – Buemi and Renault e.dams on pole in Beijing

Renault e.dams confirmed his status as favorite for this second season of the Formula e. The stable of Jean-Paul Driot and Alain Prost took the first row of the starting grid for the Beijing ePrix, thanks to Sébastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost.

The Swiss was the fastest in the Super Pole, which featured the five fastest drivers in the qualifying groups, with a best lap in 1'37 "297, or 284 thousandths ahead of his French teammate.

The second row will be occupied by the German Nick Heidfeld (Mahindra) and Lucas di Grassi (ABT Audi Sport), who precede Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Virgin Racing), who pulled straight when braking at the first turn of the Chinese track during his last attempt.

Stéphane Sarrazin (Venturi)
will start this first meeting of the season in sixth position alongside Vergne, while Loïc duval (Dragon Racing) will follow on the fourth row behind Bruno Senna (Mahindra).

Jacques Villeneuve (Venturi) will start 12th in front of the two Amlin Andretti single-seaters of Robin Frijns and Simona de Silvestro. Nathanaël Berthon (Team Aguri) set the 17th fastest time ahead of reigning champion Nelson Piquet Jr (NEXTEV China Racing), in difficulty in EL1, who will start in last position.

The Beijing ePrix will start at 10 a.m. French time, and will be followed live on Canal + Sport.
