Formula e – Conclusive tests for Renault e.dams

Renowned Renault e.dams for this second season of the Formula e, following the manufacturer's increasingly significant involvement in Losange, the French team took advantage of the six days of preliminary testing to get used to the new ZE15 powertrain specifically developed by Renault engineers.

Si Nicolas Cheers et Sébastien Buemi, the two drivers renewed for this 2015-2016 campaign, were not the fastest, ahead of the ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport team and Lucas di Grassi, they were able to successfully complete the planned program and note the progress of the car.

“Last week we were perhaps a little lost but everything went well for me this time. We were able to maintain a good pace throughout the day and I am delighted with the progress made. However, we must remain humble because the competition is particularly fierce. ABT and Virgin Racing look very competitive, so no excess confidence! »
recalls Prost.

“The last official pre-season test was naturally a crucial meeting on the road to Beijing. It was necessary to ensure that the new thruster displays the expected level of performance and meets all our criteria. Even if the rain limited our driving time, it allowed us to check the proper functioning of the insulation system, a crucial element on any electric car. »
concludes Vincent Gaillardot, head of the Renault Formula e program.

Sébastien Buemi admits, however, that there is still “two or three things to improve in order to exploit our full potential. » sign that Renault e.dams still has some room for improvement before starting its second season on October 17 in Beijing, China.
