Formula e – Jacques Villeneuve: “I would like to come back”

Attraction of the start of the second season of the championship Formula e, Jacques Villeneuve had only competed in two races with Venturi before parting ways with the Monegasque team, replaced immediately by the Briton Mike conway. A disappointment for the former pilot Williams, who expected a lot from this experience.

“It’s just a shame there wasn’t time to build anything, comments the Canadian on the Formula e website. It was a bit disappointing, but that’s life. Before the season started, I spent a lot of time working with the team on different ideas – electronics, steering, shock absorbers… using all the experience I had from theIndycar on this type of track, between walls, bumpy and narrow.

And it seemed to be going in the right direction. Obviously, it was frustrating not to get the results when we were showing a good pace. But that's racing, there are good days and bad days and sometimes the whole season can be full of bad days, sometimes you can't control that. »

The 1997 world champion Formula 1 with Frank Williams' team, however, does not hide his desire to return to a discipline, which will notably see the holding of an ePrix (with two rounds) to Montreal on his land next July.

« I would love to come back. The racing was fun, the tracks were great – in Malaysia especially – the championship is professional and there are good drivers. It was a useful experience and It would be nice to have a real chance. »

If Jaguar-Land Rover will arrive in 2016-2017 and has still not confirmed its drivers, most of the seats are already filled for the upcoming championship, Jean-Eric Vergne having notably joined Techeetah, after its replacement by José Maria Lopez at DS Virgin Racing. Ten stables will compete in the season, which will begin in Hong Kong on October 9.
