Formula e – José María López at work with DS Virgin

Double, and soon triple world champion with Citroën Racing in the WTCC, Jose Maria Lopez will put an end to its tourism adventure at the end of the year, after a more than successful stint on the world stage.

From October 9 in Hong Kong in Formula e, the Argentinian will find a universe which is partly familiar to him, he who had started after his years karting in Formula Renault in Italy, before being crowned in Formula Renault V6 Eurocup in 2004.

To prepare for the third season of Formula e, the new recruit of DS Virgin Racing continues the working sessions in order to develop the new DSV02, which will replace the car seen this year in the hands of Jean-Eric Vergne and Sam Bird.

“The single-seater is a very special car, for which the driver must re-adapt everything he has learned in terms of braking and “fuel” management, López tells us during a test session in Spain. It's about racing, going as fast as possible, while saving energy... In Formula e, the car is of course important, but the driving nevertheless counts more than in other disciplines. »
