Formula E – Buenos Aires route revealed

The fifth circuit to be unveiled by the organizers of the new 100% electric single-seater World Championship, the Buenos Aires route will take place on January 10 through the streets of the Puerto Madero district in the east of the Argentine capital. Designed by Santiago Garcia Remohi, the track will have twelve turns, and will be made up of long, fast sections interspersed with heavy braking, including three hairpins and a chicane. For Mahindra driver Bruno Senna, the route is a good compromise. “There is the chicane, high-speed corners with changes of direction, but also slower sections, explains the Brazilian. On the other hand, we cannot yet judge the height difference just by looking at the map. I think the main overtaking zone will be when braking for turn 1. We should also not neglect the portion between turn 4 and turn 7.”

Argentina is the second South American country to host the Spark-Renault SRT_01E with Uruguay and the Punta Del Este round, on December 13. On the other hand, no Albiceleste driver is currently entered in the championship. Juan Manuel Lopez, however, recently tested one of the cars during testing at Donington in England on behalf of China Racing.

The World Championship Formula E will begin on September 13 in Beijing, China, on a circuit around the Bird's Nest Olympic Stadium.
