Formula e – Paris ePrix route confirmed

The organizers of the Paris ePrix presented the route of the race contested on April 23 revealed in issue 2034 of AUTOhebdo last October the Formula e will evolve around the Hôtel des Invalides, passing next to the Tour-Maubourg and the École Militaire, crossing Place Vauban and returning to Boulevard des Invalides. The stands will be positioned towards the Esplanade des Invalides. This 14-turn track should allow drivers to reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h.

“It’s the culmination of a dream. I’ve had this dream for half a century”, declared Jean Todt, President of the FIA, during the press conference held today at the Paris City Hall. “It's teamwork with the State, Rachida Dati (European MP and mayor of the XNUMXth arrondissement of Paris) and the FFSA. »

Patrick Kanner, Minister of Cities, Youth and Sports, also expressed his enthusiasm at the idea of welcoming Formula e to the streets of the French capital. “It’s a sign to the world. We are capable of organizing the biggest sporting events. There is no longer a Grand Prix F1 in France, it was lacking. »

“This project was even more difficult than bringing F1 back to France”, added Alain Prost, co-director of the team Renault e.dams and ambassador of the Losange brand. “The general interest has come before the particular interest. France is a country of automobiles. If there is a race to win, it is the one in Paris. »

The publisher Graton also took the opportunity to announce that Michel Vaillant's next album entitled Renaissance (see album cover), to be released on Friday June 3, 2016, will take place at the Paris ePrix.
