Formula e - López: “A fantastic series”

The two-time WTCC world champion with Citroën was present at a DS Virgin Racing demonstration in Buenos Aires and spoke about the championship.

Present during a demonstration of the DS Virgin Racing in Buenos Aires, Argentina on the sidelines of the ePrix which will be contested today, Jose Maria Lopez, Citroën driver in the WTCC has not hidden his attraction to the championship.

“After having been in different series, the Formula e is different, comments the double world champion, quoted by the FIA website. The Argentine driver also clarified that the discipline could perhaps be part of his future. “It would be wonderful for me to join this fantastic series. Today, I am involved with Citroën in Tourism. We are developing the car, so the timing is not right.

Besides having a race in Argentina, it would be good to have an Argentinian driver. We will see. Today, everything is speculation because there is nothing concrete and we are discussing. Why not for 2017? This might be a good option."

López will return to his Citroën C-Elysée in 2016 in the WTCC, and will team up with Frenchman Yvan Muller, the two men being the only drivers entered by Citroën Racing after Sébastien's non-renewal Loeb, left on his side to Peugeot Sport.
