Formula e – Renault e.dams must raise its level

Si Sébastien Buemi failed in his quest to become the first champion in the history of the Formula e, beaten last June in London by Nelson Piquet Jr, his team e.dams-Renault had secured the Teams crown in the first race of the final.

Renamed Renault e.dams for this second campaign, the training, co-owned by Jean-Paul Driot and Alain Prost, will be one of the favorites for the 2015-2016 season which will begin on October 24 in Beijing, China.

La car of the French team will be powered by the powertrain specifically developed with increased technical support from Renault. “This year, we are going to absolutely have to raise our level of play because all our rivals have progressed and seem very competitive, admits Jean-Paul Driot.

After our testing sessions at Donington, I am confident. Our powertrain benefited from the undeniable Renault know-how, as well as their extensive experience with electric propulsion: the performance was already there during these pre-season tests. However, we must remain very focused. »

Once again lined up alongside his Swiss team-mate, Nicolas Prost is impatient to start the season, and recognizes the advantages of stability within the team despite Renault's growing involvement. “Everyone knows each other very well and it is much easier to work with the same people within the same structure. »
