Formula E – Sébastien Buemi finishes first

The Spark single-seatersRenault SRT_01E completed their last day of driving yesterday before the start of the first season of the Formula E, which will be given on September 13 in China in Beijing, on a circuit designed around the Bird's Nest of the Chinese capital, built for the 2008 Olympic Games.

It’s the Swiss once again Sébastien Buemi, driver of the e.dams-Renault team, who distinguished himself on the English track of Donington, setting a reference time of 1’31”792. " We are very happy, explains the one who is also a pilot Toyota en WEC. We still have a few small issues with the car, which we need to work on, and also the limits of the car which needs to be better understood. » Buemi is ahead of his teammate the Frenchman Nicolas Cheers by almost three tenths of a second and another tricolor, Franck Montagny (Andretti Autosport), 3rd, 26 thousandths behind Prost. Also note that it was Charles Pic who drove in the second car of the team of Michael Andretti, the former driver F1 in McLaren having still not announced who would support Montagny for the start of the season in China in a little less than a month. The last French driver lined up yesterday, Stéphane Sarrazin (Venturi) ranked 9th, just under a second behind Buemi's best time.

China Racing, another team that has not yet formalized its two drivers, has run Ho Pin Tung and Antonio Garcia, regular Corvette driver in Endurance. Nelson Piquet Jr, who has been holding the line for a starting place in the Chinese team for several weeks, was also at the wheel this Tuesday.

Formula E will now head to China and Beijing for the first round of a highly anticipated championship, particularly given the field of entrants.
