Formula E – Venturi Grand Prix prepares

The first Spark single-seatersRenault SRT_01E have been recently delivered to the stables which will make up the first World Championship of Formula E, which will begin on September 13, around the Bird's Nest in Beijing. Venturi Grand Prix has since been working on understanding its car before the first tests on the circuit.

“On May 15 we recovered the first car,
explains Brice Gaillardon, the Team Manager. We completely dismantled it to understand how it is made and understand all of its contents. This also allows us to complete our list of tools to meet specific needs. We will soon put the bodywork in Venturi Grand Prix colors since for the moment all the cars have been delivered in carbon version only. Then we will reassemble the chassis and connect the battery. The battery pack is a structural component of the single-seater so it is a matter of completing its assembly correctly so that it is perfectly integrated into the vehicle. This is something new so system verification methods must be put in place so that this step takes place correctly. »

The first runs are planned for June. But for Brice Gaillardon, the first shakedown will above all be an opportunity to check the basics. “We will have to see if the car works correctly, if the driver is well seated in his car, if the ergonomics of the cockpit corresponds perfectly to his position. If all of this is operational we will be able to launch into the first performance tests. »

The members of the Venturi team, like all the staff of the nine other teams entered, have received training specific to the electric single-seater. “ The first was devoted to the risk of electricity in general. There will then be a session on the assembly/disassembly of all vehicle components. Finally, we will be trained in intervention methods in the event of an accident. »

The Monegasque team has not yet revealed who its two drivers will be for this first Formula E season.
