The Berlin weekend is definitely underway. This first race of the last meeting of the season was very lively on the track and in a good way. Despite a few clashes, there was a spectacle at the front with Lucas di Grassi (Audi) in great form.

Logically deprived of his victory in London last month for an illegal passage through the pit lane, the Brazilian this time imposed his law in the race. Third on the starting grid, the champion of the 2016/2017 campaign took the scalps of the DS Techeetah drivers shortly after the restart following the interruption caused by the stoppage of Sam Bird (Jaguar).

Then engaged in a battle for victory against Edoardo Mortara, Lucas di Grassi went on the attack in the final stretch of the race. Well helped by the extra power of Attack Mode, the Brazilian managed to come back into contact with the Swiss then defraud him to take the lead under the checkerboard.

As a boss and without controversy this time, Lucas di Grassi won for the second time this season and returned to 8 points from the championship lead. Mitch Evans (Jaguar) completes the podium.

After having monopolized the first row in qualifying, DS Techeetah saw its two drivers lose almost everything in the race. Although they crossed the line in the points, Jean-Éric Vergne and António Félix da Costa, respectively 1st and 2nd on the starting grid, only finished 6th and 7th, missing out on a good opportunity for the championship. The Franco-Chinese team is still 5 points behind Jaguar in the manufacturers' standings.

Leader before the first start of the weekend, Nyck de Vries (Mercedes) retains the lead in the championship despite a very eventful race. Only 19th on the grid, the Dutchman was quickly disrupted by a puncture at the start of the event. Forced to return to the stands, the champion F2 2019 ultimately finished 22nd. He will have to work harder this Sunday if he wants to win his first crown in the discipline, especially since Edoardo Mortara returned to three small units before the last meeting. Fifth at the finish, Jake Dennis (BMW Andretti) remains in ambush four lengths behind Nyck de Vries.
