In his new role, Dieter Gass will play a key role alongside Alberto Longo, co-founder and head of the championship, working on sporting and technical issues in partnership with the FIA. The goal: to ensure the growth of Formula E. The German will also work with the FIA and other stakeholders to implement a plan for the future of the discipline.
“With the FIA, we have defined a clear roadmap for the sport, said Jamie Reigle, CEO of Formula E, regarding the appointment of Dieter Gass. But the question then becomes how the technology, the race car and adjacent technologies, like charging, serve the vision of the sport. We needed someone credible who could really drive this agenda for us in partnership with the FIA and ensure we deliver an exceptional product. »
Dieter Gass will juggle between this new role and that of Team Principal at Jota, which arrives in the Hypercar category in the World ChampionshipEndurance (WEC).
