Big first for Dan Ticktum. For the first time in his career Formula E, the Briton was the fastest during an official session. The NIO 333 driver set the best time during Free Practice 2 of the Diriyah E-Prix (Saudi Arabia), placing his car Chinese at the top of the timesheet.

With a time of 1'10″099, the Briton broke away from the rest of the peloton. Within a compact grid, Dan Ticktum was ahead Sébastien Buemi (Envision) of two tenths. Mitch Evans completes the top 3 of this 2nd Free Practice session (+0″348). The first DS-Penske is in 4th place, with the car of Stoffel Vandoorne (+0″430).
On the French side, no Tricolore is present in the top 10. Jean-Éric Vergne placed his DS-Penske in 14th place (+0″772), just ahead of Norman Nato’s Nissan (+0″782). The other Nissan of Sacha Fenestraz finished in 18th place (+0″891).
On the dusty Diriyah circuit, some drivers were trapped by the proximity to the walls. Nico Müller notably saw his session end prematurely. The Abt-Cupra driver slid at the exit of turn 17 and hit the wall mid-session. Left rear suspension broken, the Swiss had to park in a loophole and end his session. Maximilian Günther experienced the same mishap at the end of the session, but not serious.
