The Jaguars are still in good form at the Diriyah circuit. The day after Sam Bird's podium, it was Mitch Evans who stood out this Saturday morning for the first session of the day. The New Zealander set the best time in 1'09"092, thus depriving Dan Ticktum of another session "victory". The Briton, driving a very competitive NIO 333 on a lap since Thursday, failed 0″149 behind the world vice-champion’s time. After scoring his first points the day before, Jean-Éric Vergne (DS-Penske) completed the top 3 in Free Practice 3.
The double champion of the discipline beat another Frenchman: Norman Nato, who placed his Nissan in 4th place in front of the other Jaguar, that of Sam Bird. A timid start to the day, however, for the two protagonists of the championship: Jake Dennis and Pascal Wehrlein are only 17th and 18th in this session.
A studious and clean session for all the drivers, in which Maximilian Günther was able to participate with a Maserati operational again. The German had withdrawn the day before because of his accident during the first qualifications. Only Lucas di Grassi made a mistake during FP3, with a big scare at the chicane. The Brazilian, pole sitter in Mexico, lost control of his car on the brakes and hit the Tec-Pro, fortunately without much seriousness for the Mahindra driver.
