Edoardo Mortara takes pole in Berlin

After two retirements during the last two rounds, Edoardo Mortara (Venturi) moves forward in Berlin. The Swiss driver secured pole position for Race 1 at 15 p.m., the first of his career in Formula E. On the front row, he will start in front of Alexander Sims (Mahindra) and Antonio Felix Da Costa (DS Techeetah).

The Briton, who no one really expected in the qualifying final against Edoardo Mortara, long thought he could score his first points of the season with pole position. 5th time in his qualifying group, the Mahindra driver took advantage of the cancellation of the Sébastien Buemi (Nissan) pour se hisser en quarts de finale.

After his semi-final, Jean-Éric Vergne still couldn't believe it and will start in 4th position alongside the other DS driver Antonio Felix Da Costa. André Lotterer (Porsche), author of the best time in free practice 2, completes the top 5. Championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes) will start in 8th position and will try to catch up with the Frenchman who is right behind him in the drivers' standings. Edoardo Mortara will also have the opportunity at 15 p.m. to make up for his 32-point deficit on the Belgian.
