Jaguar Land Rover has just confirmed its involvement in the Formula E championship beyond 2021. The announcement comes just before the double-header in London. The first race on Jaguar land in 17 years, the year Sam Bird led the drivers' championship.
The objective following this formalization for the British brand is to produce 100% luxury vehicles. electric by 2025, and ultimately to become a zero-carbon company in 2039.
Jaguar thus joins 333 Racing, DS Automobiles, Porsche, Nissan and Mahindra, all of whom have confirmed their participation in the next era of Formula E from 2022: Gen3.
“Gen3 in Formula E is a very exciting new chapter for this 100% electric championship, explains Thierry Bollore, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover in an official press release. It is the best environment for innovating, collaborating and testing new technologies. Jaguar will help the entire Jaguar Land Rover institution to become fully electrified.”
