Jake Dennis was definitely unstoppable in front of his audience. The Briton masterfully dominated Race 1 of the London ePrix. The Avanlanche/Andretti driver signs his first victory of the season ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne. The Belgian is the big winner of the day in the title race with Mitch Evans only 6th and especially Jean-Éric Vergne and Edoardo Mortara out of the points. The pilot Mercedes flies up the rankings and has a comfortable lead with only 3 races remaining on the calendar.

From the first lap, the winding track of the London ePrix took its toll. At turn 2, Sam Bird, Jean-Éric Vergne and Edoardo Mortara tried to pass to 3. This was not possible and the Briton had to end his race. The Swiss also met a tragic end. Even if his direction was affected, the runner-up in the championship tried to restart after passing through the pits in last position. But the damage was done and it was a zero score for Edoardo Mortara in Race 1.

While Jake Dennis kept the lead in the lead, the two DS Techeetah drivers were in the battle. With Jean-Éric Vergne playing for the title, we could have expected to see team instructions. But that was not the case and on his second attempt to pass, the Habs hit his teammate Antonio Félix Da Costa. More fear than harm for the two drivers who were able to resume the race without problems.

Jake Dennis untouchable, Jean-Éric Vergne 3rd race out of points

At least until he comes into contact with Sébastien Buemi. The collision with the Swiss caused Jean-Éric Vergne to fall into 16th position. The attack modes will not change anything and Stoffel Vandoorne saw a second contender for the title saying goodbye to points in Race 1.

In the top 4, the ranking did not change with Jake Dennis leading the debates and ensuring he had a gap with the Mercedes driver. The Belgian did not want to take any risks and was content with this 2nd place which gave him 18 points in London. Mitch Evans, the third contender for the coronation, for his part, carried out a comeback mission to narrowly grab the top 10, with a 6th place. Jean-Éric Vergne finally finished his race in 13th position. The third consecutive race out of the points for the Frenchman.

Sérgio Sette Câmara has long believed he could offer his first points to his Dragon Penske team. But the Brazilian driver had an energy problem and ultimately finished 18th. If Stoffel Vandoorne is the big winner of the first day, everything has to be done again on Sunday for the second race of the weekend at the London ePrix.
