In front of his audience, Jake Dennis is definitely in good shape. The Briton managed to secure pole position in Race 1. But in London, it was Mercedes who carried out a very big operation in qualifying. With only 4 races left on the calendar, all eyes were on the 4 title contenders. But in England, three of them were trapped and this allows Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes-EQ Formula Team) to put himself in the best position for Race 1.

Jean-Éric Vergne and Edoardo Mortara, two surprise eliminations

In Group A, the German team quickly secured its place in the quarter-finals. For his part, Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing) finished in a disappointing 8th place. While Nick Cassidy (Envision) secured first place, Luca Di Grassi (Jaguar) also thought he could compete in the quarter-finals. Except that the stewards decided to cancel the Brazilian's times for having hampered Mitch Evans, allowing Maximilian Günther (Nissan e-Dams) to take his place.

With one title contender eliminated, Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Techeetah) and Edoardo Mortara (ROKiT Venturi Racing) could score big points. But the two drivers suffered the same fate as the New Zealander by failing to reach 4th place. This avalanche of eliminations of leaders during the group phase allowed other drivers to shine like Sérgio Sette Câmara (Dragon / Penske Autosport), already author of the best time during FP1.

Jake Dennis surprises Stoffel Vandoorne

But Stoffel Vandoorne was unable to do anything against Jake Dennis in the final. The Briton will start from pole position for Race 1 of the London ePrix at 16 p.m.
