Remember, on January 11, Maserati announced his arrival in Formula E  as a builder. All that remained was to know the identity of the team for which it would be the powertrain supplier. It is now done. The Trident brand has indeed announced its association with the Venturi Racing team, for several seasons. The two entities took advantage of the sounding board offered by the Rome E-Prix this weekend to announce it.

The manufacturer will thus become the first Italian firm to compete in the electric single-seater championship.
Maserati, which won two World Drivers' Championship titles in Formula 1 with Juan Manuel Fangio in 1954 and 1957, will not on the other hand be the first manufacturer of the Stellantis group to compete in the FE, because DS has already been playing there since 2016 (two Teams titles in 2019 and 2020).

Maserati replacing Mercedes

“Returning to motorsport through Formula E was a natural choice for Maserati, expressed Davide Grasso, CEO of the Italian brand. Indeed, we are guided by our passion and by innovation. We are happy to share this adventure with a partner who has the same values as us and who is focused on the future. With ROKiT Venturi Racing, we share the same determination and desire to fight and win on circuits around the world.

On the Venturi side, we are obviously looking forward to the challenges to come, with Maserati therefore arriving to replace Mercedes, who will officially leave the championship at the end of the year. “Our association with Maserati marks the start of a new chapter and represents real added value for the team after our successful partnership with Mercedes. Being given the trust of one of the most identifiable brands on the occasion of its return to competition in car underlines our success in recent seasons…” Susie gargled Wolff, the CEO of the team based in Monaco.

As a reminder, the two entities will start together in 2023, on the occasion of the ninth season in the history of Formula E, and at the time of the introduction of the Gen3 era. As a reminder, Venturi Racing is currently leading the drivers' championship with Edoardo Mortara and the Teams classification before the Italian round.
