New York definitely smiles at Nick Cassidy. The New Zealander took his second pole position of the weekend in the Big Apple.

In Group A of this second qualifying session of the weekend of Formula E in New York, Edoardo Mortara (ROKiT Venturi Racing) had a problem and did not complete a flying lap. The championship leader was de facto eliminated even before the quarter-finals and will therefore start in last position in the race scheduled for 19 p.m. in the streets of Brooklyn. Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Techeetah) was eliminated for a second day in a row after hitting the wall during his second attempt.

Sergio Sette Câmara (Dragon / Penske Autosport), Nick Cassidy (Envision Racing), Nick de Vries (Mercedes-EQ Formula Team) et Alexander Sims (Mahindra Racing) filaient dans le top 8. Ils étaient rejoints pour la phase des duels par Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing), Antonio Felix da Costa (DS Techeetah), Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes-EQ Formula Team) et André Lotterer (TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team).

Second final in two days for Cassidy

In the first match, Lotterer had Sette Câmara to advance to the semi-final. The second duel was the rematch of the previous day's final between Nick Cassidy and Stoffel Vandoorne and the New Zealander won once again against the Belgian. The third man qualified for the last four was Antonio Felix da Costa, victorious over Nyck de Vries. Alexander Sims achieved the feat of advancing to the next round against Mitch Evans.

Cassidy easily got rid of Lotterer to play a second final in two days to face Antonio Felix da Costa, winner of Alexander Sims. The final went to the advantage of the winner of race 1, author of a second pole position in two days. Cassidy was ultimately penalized by 30 places and Antonio Felix da Costa inherited pole position.
