Porsche with da Costa and Wehrlein

“Our new car is a big step forward, Explain António Félix da Costa, arrived in the off-season to represent the TAG team This year Porsche in 2023. It is lighter and more powerful than its predecessor. As a newcomer to the team, I have used the last few weeks to get to know the engineers and mechanics to find my place. Everyone made it easy for me and I felt comfortable from the start. I also get along well with my new teammate Pascal (Wehrlein. Editor's note), who I faced in different series. We have a common goal, that of bringing Porsche, a brand synonymous with victory, to the top. We want to win as quickly as possible with this 99X Electric Gen3. »

“We are experiencing exciting times as a team right now, adds Pascal Wehrlein. I have a good feeling from the first tests with the new car. We had a lot of good ideas and made great progress. At the very beginning it was just about getting the car running, but very quickly it became about performance and efficiency. We have some time before the season starts, but it's an exciting experience for me. »

This Porsche 99 times Electric Gen3 carries a maximum motor power of 350 kW (476 hp) on the rear axle, i.e. 100 kW more than the previous generation. La Gen3 will inaugurate a new electric motor-generator on its front axle. Regeneration will thus peak at 600 kW (250 at the front, 350 at the rear). Concerning the electric motor, it achieves an energy efficiency of approximately 95%, against around 40% for an internal combustion engine. Over 40% of the energy used is recovered via braking. Since its arrival in the championship in 2019/2020, the German manufacturer has never won the title in the championship.
